You’re in for a treat when the "The Adelaide Jazz Quintet" takes to the stage.

Starting at the backline we have every Adelaide drummer’s friend John Stephens on skins. Not only did John’s musical experience start when he was 8 years old when he was an usher at Thebby Theatre (he sat on Shirley Bassey’s knee!) but he went on to be the drum dude at John Reynolds Music City for over 35 years. He’s still one of the most tasteful jazz drummers around.

On double bass is Geoff Miller who has an extensive musical history including 3 appearances on national TV’s Ray Martin Show. Geoff also spent 2 years playing 7 nights at an international hotel in Seoul, Korea where he became acquainted with and / or played with the likes of Harry Connick Jr, Gene Harris and the late great Chick Corea.

When Geoff returned from Korea, he formed the Adelaide Jazz Trio with our piano maestro Peter Merchant. The AJT have played over 500 gigs over the last 25 years in corporate and private functions in settings including Ayers house, Mt Lofty House and many of Adelaide’s larger hotels.

If the backline is impressive then the 2 stars out the front light up the world!

On saxophone we are blessed to present the outstanding talent of the Adelaide University academic that those in the know call Schmoe. Smooth as silk and a musical mountain, Schmoe knows all the notes and just when to play them!

Out front of this happy band of Jazzos is the vocal gymnast who, like Schmoe, is generally known by one name – Samantha. Samantha works the crowd with diamond encrusted silk gloves and delivers notes that wake the angels!!

The Adelaide Jazz Qunitet will sear a jazz mark into your brain!! Don’t miss this chance!!!
